Job summary

Nexans is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel – Compliance to join the Group Legal & Compliance function in Paris La Défense. You will lead complex investigations, regulatory enquiries and ethics initiatives across multiple jurisdictions, partnering with senior leaders to manage legal, regulatory and ethical risks in an international environment.

The role requires strong legal judgement, business partnering skills, and a track record of driving AI-enabled improvements in compliance processes

Qualifications

• 8–15 years' experience in Legal, Ethics & Compliance or Regulatory functions in a multinational organisation or leading international law firm.
• Significant experience leading complex litigation support, internal investigations, regulatory enquiries, or other high-profile matters.
• Strong expertise across anti-bribery & corruption, sanctions, export controls, competition law and global compliance programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives in an international matrix organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex litigation support, internal investigations, regulatory enquiries and sensitive compliance matters across jurisdictions.
• Advance Nexans' global compliance programme across ABAC, sanctions, export controls and ethics & governance.
• Partner with senior leaders to provide pragmatic, risk-based advice for commercial decisions.
• Drive compliance transformation initiatives and adoption of AI-enabled tools within compliance functions.
