Job summary

SMBC Group is offering a Global Financial Institutions Group internship in Paris for a 6-month period starting January 2027. The role provides exposure to corporate and investment banking products and relationships management across regions, with collaboration across legal, credit and treasury teams.

You will support coverage bankers, assist in credit applications, marketing materials, and market research while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, international environment.

Qualifications

• Motivation to work in an international, multicultural environment.
• Good organisational skills, rigour, reliability, autonomy, and initiative.
• Team player with ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Interest in structured finance and banking/financial sector.
• Previous internship in banking/finance preferred.
• Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong analytical and concise communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support GFIG Front Office activities and interactions with regional teams.
• Assist coverage bankers for NBFI and Banks clients.
• Help prepare credit applications, marketing comments, and analyses.
• Help create team marketing materials, pitch books and reports.
• Conduct market research on client activities and KYC planning.
• Attend internal meetings to gain information and learn processes.
