Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking an analyst intern for a 6-month program in Paris Origination to support leveraged finance activities. You will originate and assist in executing debt opportunities for French clients, prepare English credit analyses, and participate in pitches and marketing material production.

The role emphasizes Excel modelling, financial analysis, and teamwork within a fast-paced environment, starting January 2027.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and French required (written and spoken).
• Strong knowledge of financial analysis and MS Office tools.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and independently, with a team mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in originating and supporting debt-related opportunities in France.
• Prepare credit & market analyses in English for internal committees.
• Build and review Excel financial models (BS, P&L, cash flow) for base and downside cases.
• Support client pitches and marketing materials as part of the syndication process.
