Job summary

Mistral is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to lead GDPR compliance and act as the privacy partner to product and engineering teams. The role covers drafting compliance documentation and advising across functions, with a team of specialists in Paris and Palo Alto.

We seek a lawyer with 3–5 years in law firms or tech, strong privacy knowledge, and an international mindset to navigate evolving AI-related regulations. This role supports a fast-growing AI environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in law with focus on privacy or IT law.
• Solid understanding of GDPR and European data protection rules.
• Experience drafting policies, DPAs, and data processing records.

Responsibilities

• Manage GDPR compliance documentation (records of processing, DPIAs, internal policies).
• Answer and process data subject requests; implement GDPR processes and automation.
• Oversee employee privacy training.
• Negotiate DPAs with providers and customers.
• Monitor privacy regulations and guidance from authorities.
• Advise product and engineering teams on privacy aspects of new features.
• Update compliance documents as needed.
