The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is seeking a Gardener F/M to join our team at Longueval, France. The role focuses on cemetery maintenance, planting, borders, lawns and headstones in line with CWGC standards and Health and Safety rules.

We offer a permanent contract, 35 hours per week with flexible scheduling, meal allowance and a laundry bonus as part of the benefits package. A driving licence B is required, and training opportunities are available to develop skills in horticulture

Qualificações

• Horticulture knowledge and a diploma or experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Carries out planting of flower beds under supervision.
• Maintains borders, flower beds, hedges and trees.
• Maintains headstones with appropriate training.
• Maintains lawn and operates horticultural machinery.
• Carries out maintenance and cleaning of the base site and vehicles.
• Informs line manager and Administrative Department of vandalism or deterioration.
• Participates in department and Commission projects as directed.
• Carries out work in line with Health and Safety rules.

We are looking for a Gardener F/M to join our teams at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) which honours the 1.7 million men and womenof the Commonwealth forces who died in the First and Second World Wars,ensuring they will never be forgotten. Our work commemorates the war dead, frombuilding and maintaining our cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations inmore than 150 countries to preserving our extensive records and archives. Ourvalues and aims, laid out in 1917, are as relevant now as they were 100 yearsago.

Contract type : Permanent Contract

Salary : 1 867,02€ per months -Meal allowance - Laundry bonus

Benefits :Medical insurance (Mutuelle) - Provident Scheme (Prévoyance) - 13th month from 6 months of seniority

Working hours: 35 hours annualised with flexible working hours ranging from 35 to 42.5 hours per week, according to an internally-defined schedule. Compensation in RTT.

Job Description:

As part of the cemetery maintenance programmeand in compliance with the objectives and standards set by the Commission,the job holder is called upon to perform maintenance tasks under the supervision of a line manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Carries out the planting of flower beds, under the supervision of a line manager.
• Maintains the borders, flower beds, hedges and trees.
• Treats the headstones as required and with appropriate training.
• Maintains the lawn, and operates and maintains horticultural machines under the supervision of a line manager.
• Carries out maintenance and cleaning of the horticultural base site and vehicles.
• Upon detectionof vandalism or deterioration, informs the line manager and the Administrative Department accordingly.
• Generally speaking, participates actively in all the projects of the department and of the Commission, according to the needs and directives given.
• Carries out work in line with theHealth and Safety rules and procedures.
