Job summary

SMBC Group in Paris is seeking an ambitious Front Office Project Finance intern associate for a 6-month period starting in January 2027. You will join a team of 15 professionals involved in origination and execution of Project Finance mandates across infrastructure, energy, and telecom sectors.

As an intern, you will conduct risk and sector analysis, build financial models in Excel, prepare internal credit papers in English, and support internal reporting while collaborating with other teams in

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
• Interest in project finance or structured finance, infrastructure, energy.
• Prior internship experience welcome.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and Excel modeling.

Responsibilities

• Support origination and execution of Project Finance arranging mandates.
• Conduct risk and sector analysis of new projects and financials of sponsors.
• Write internal credit applications in English.
• Analyse and run complex Excel financial models.
• Conduct strategic watch and develop sector expertise.
• Assist with internal reporting.
