sennder is seeking an Operations Manager to join our Lyon office for onsite work in a fast-growing, European digital freight-forwarding environment. You will structure carrier relationships, negotiate spot market commitments, and ensure on-time delivery for customer shipments.

The role emphasizes initiative, cross-border collaboration, and a hands-on approach to solving transport challenges. Ideal candidates have a minimum of two years in road freight and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• 2 years of experience in road freight or as Freight Forwarder/Operations/Transport Manager.
• Excellent English communication (written and spoken); Spanish/Italian are a plus.
• Entrepreneurial character and international mindset are valued.
• Strong ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate, and influence others.
• Able to thrive under deadlines and work in a team, while delivering independent results.
• Proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Responsabilités

• Build contractual relationships and negotiate spot market commitments with carriers.
• Call carriers based on customer interest and provide day-to-day status updates.
• Identify issues, gather input, and implement best action plans.
• Apply trucks to loads in contractual and transactional commitments.
• Develop supply chain solutions to support go-to-market strategy.
• Research carriers, generate leads, and build relationships with new carriers.
• Negotiate transportation rates and confirm carrier availability for loads.
• Ensure customer load requirements are met on both contracted and ad-hoc shipments.
