Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a seasoned country lawyer for France to provide broad regulatory and policy legal support for our Paris presence, advising on French and EU developments affecting OpenAI’s products and operations.

You will translate complex legal questions into actionable guidance, collaborate with GA, Policy, and local teams, and ensure alignment with OpenAI’s global positions while enabling compliant business initiatives in France.

Qualifications

• Law degree with breadth across commercial, employment, corporate and operational matters.
• In-house and/or law firm experience in regulatory engagement, policy development or enforcement.
• Ability to interpret complex legislation and prepare persuasive submissions.

Responsibilities

• Advise on regulatory developments and their business implications in France and the EU.
• Support regulatory and policy engagement with regulators, policymakers and local government.
• Help with French business initiatives, partnerships, research, and university collaborations as appropriate.
• Provide coordinated French country legal support across governance, employment, and operations.
