activpayroll Ltd. is seeking a Payroll Accountant to manage French payrolls end-to-end from a Paris or Orléans base. You will guide clients through tax and social declarations, delivering best-in-class service and ensuring accurate, timely payroll delivery.

The role emphasizes governance, calendar management, and proactive client communication, with a strong focus on accuracy and customer care across the payroll cycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll in France with understanding of fiscal responsibilities.
• Aptitude for numbers and a finance/payroll background.
• Monitor payroll markets to ensure tax and legislation changes are reflected.
• Commitment to delivering high standards of customer service.
• High attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
• Proficiency with databases, systems and software, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Act as the focal point for a portfolio of payroll clients, delivering excellent service.
• Process end-to-end French payrolls with varying headcount and complexity.
• Host governance calls with clients to track progress and identify improvements.
• Prepare monthly governance reports.
• Keep payroll manuals up to date reflecting current processes.
• Create payroll calendars and checklists, and ensure checks are completed.
• Answer client, partner and colleague queries and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Deliver rapid, effective service and ensure customers are kept informed about service delivery.
