Job summary

activpayroll Ltd. is seeking a Payroll Accountant based in Paris or Orléans to manage French payrolls end-to-end, advise clients on tax and social declarations, and deliver best-in-class service. The role reports to the Payroll Team Lead.

Based in Paris or Orléans, you will coordinate client payrolls from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery while keeping manuals up to date and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll in France and understanding of fiscal responsibilities.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to high standards of customer service.
• Proficiency with databases and Excel-based tools.
• Ability to perform under pressure and resolve issues promptly.
• Knowledge of payroll processes and governance.
• Awareness of payroll legislation and tax implications.

Responsibilities

• Act as focal point for a portfolio of payroll clients delivering excellent service.
• Process end-to-end French payrolls for varied headcounts and complexities.
• Host governance calls with clients to track progress and identify improvements.
• Prepare monthly governance reports.
• Ensure payroll manuals reflect current processes and updates.
• Create payroll calendars and checklists, ensuring checks are completed.
• Respond to client inquiries, troubleshoot and escalate when needed.
• Maintain clear communication about service management with clients and colleagues.
• Support colleagues to ensure consistent service delivery across the department.
