SeaOwl Group seeks a Graduate Telecom Engineer to lead the detailed telecom design for an FPSO project. You will oversee all telecom studies, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and ensure compliance with international standards and project requirements.

Based in Paris with international assignments (Singapore, Geoje) and residential status, you will participate in FATs, design reviews, and commissioning activities, driving safety and quality across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • 10 years' experience in oil and gas projects, with prior FPSO design involvement.
  • Fluent in English; French a plus.
  • Proven involvement in detailed design, including review of engineering documents, vendor packages, and interface management.
  • Experience with FATs, technical bid evaluations, and vendor coordination during engineering phase.
  • Solid knowledge of API, ISO, ASME and other international standards.
  • Ability to support technical audits, HAZOPs, and design reviews with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exposure to commissioning and pre-commissioning activities, punch list clearance and system completion.

Responsabilités

  • Oversee telecom discipline follow-up for the entire project (plant, camp, airstrip) during detailed engineering.
  • Ensure telecom design, procurement, and installation meet COMPANY requirements and standards.
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget execution within the discipline and contribute to safety compliance.
  • Lead telecom studies reviews with CONTRACTORs, sub-CONTRACTORs, and VENDORS to satisfy scope and safety.

MISSIONS / SERVICE DIMENSIONS
  • To oversee the follow up and supervision of the telecom discipline for the whole project (including plant, accommodation camp and airstrip) during the detailed engineering phase of the project
  • To ensure that the design and procurement and installation of telecom components comply with COMPANY requirements -design, maintainability, operability, safety practices - applicable regulations and good engineering practices.
  • To ensure, within its own discipline, that the overall objectives of the project are fulfilled, in particular execution within schedule and budget.
  • Promote & comply in all activities with applicable safety instructions and other company HSE rules.
ACTIVITIES
  • To follow up and supervise the telecom studies performed by CONTRACTORs, sub-CONTRACTORs and VENDORS to ensure the required scope of work is performed within time and budget. and that the Plant is designed with proven technology, to the required safety, quality and operability standards
  • To anticipate and report to the Engineering Manager (shall the case happen), any CONTRACTOR shortcomings and/or schedule drift in the telecom discipline.
  • To review and comment technical documents (such as all telecom equipment specifications, calculation notes design brief, datasheets, termination diagrams, Materiel take off, troubleshooting diagrams, hook up diagrams, layouts, cable routings, certificates…) in order to ensure compliance with Project procedures, requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Review the overall telecom architecture and ensure it is well designed, take into account other disciplines requirements and comply with project specific requirements as well as industry's best practices.
  • Participate in FAT/meetings at vendor premises as necessary (in particular follow the TELECOM INTEGRATOR subcontractor)
  • Ensure that design modifications are correctly followed up / implemented by EPC Contractor.
  • Participate in/organize weekly discipline meetings with contractors. Also initiate/participate in technical meetings as appropriate
  • Prepare weekly and monthly report as well as other specific reports on Engineering Manager request.
  • Participate in COMPANY weekly meetings and interface with other discipline to ensure disciplines particular requirements are well taken into account by other disciplines.
  • During Construction activity, participate to the follow up of construction activities.
  • Involve him/herself in safety aspects of the construction and report any anomalies noticed on site, when related to his/her discipline. Propose remedial action.
CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT
  • The Venus FPSO will operate in ultra-deepwater at roughly 3,000 m and is designed to process 160,000 bbl./d of oil with advanced systems to manage large volumes of associated gas, which will be re-injected to maintain reservoir pressure. The unit will be permanently spread-moored using a 16-line mooring system, engineered to ensure station-keeping in relatively harsh Atlantic conditions. The development includes up to 40 subsea wells tied back to the FPSO via the subsea architecture.

DURATION / LOCATION
  • Starting date: October 2026 (subject to FID)
  • Duration: 1 year to 4 years after FPSO contract Award
  • Renewable: Yes
  • Location: Between 1 and 2 years in Paris - France, up to 18 months in Singapore, up to 18 months in Geoje - South Korea.
  • Status: Residential
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Graduate Engineer specialized in telecom engineering discipline with 10 years' experience in oil and gas projects and with a previous experience in design of FPSO;
  • Fluent in English, French is a plus.
  • Proven involvement in detailed design, including review of engineering documents, vendor packages, and interface management
  • Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), technical bid evaluations, and vendor coordination during engineering phase
  • Solid knowledge of API, ISO, ASME and other international standards
  • Ability to support technical audits, HAZOPs, and design reviews with multidisciplinary teams
  • Exposure to commissioning and pre-commissioning activities, including punch list clearance and system completion
