Job summary

Siemens Software in Meudon (Paris area) offers a Strategic Student Program internship focused on benchmarking open-source FPGA placement and routing tools. You will build a containerized setup to install multiple tools, compile designs for a common architecture, and run benchmarks on a large dataset.

You will learn FPGA deployment flows, benchmarking methodology, and produce a final technical report with recommendations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BAC+5 engineering degree in France, specializing in electrical/computer engineering or related field.
• Programming experience in C/C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with containerization, Unix scripting, and basic DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Survey academic and community FPGA placement and routing tools and select the most promising options.
• Set up an automatic benchmarking framework using containers to install and run multiple tools.
• Evaluate tool performance using defined metrics and document findings in a technical report.
• Deliver a reproducible benchmarking framework with installation and run instructions.
