Alta Ares is seeking a Fixed-Wing Test Pilot to operate its fixed-wing drones during development and demos. You will act as Safety Pilot during experimental flights and help train others, document procedures, and improve operational workflows.

Responsibilities include piloting fixed-wing UAVs in development tests, handling non-standard takeoffs/landings, monitoring aircraft behavior, and working with the flight-controller team to report anomalies and ensure airworthiness.

Qualifications

• Proof of experience flying fixed-wing UAVs is required.
• Experience with multirotor drones is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, CG balancing and basic aircraft mechanics.
• Ability to troubleshoot propulsion systems, especially turbines.
• Familiarity with flight-control systems, tuning and parameter testing.
• Hands-on maintenance and repair skills for UAV platforms.
• Commitment to safety during test-flight operations.

Responsabilités

• Operate fixed-wing UAVs during development tests and demos.
• Execute manual piloting tasks including non-standard takeoffs and landings.
• Serve as Safety Pilot during avionics hardware/software testing and take manual control when required.
• Provide detailed feedback on anomalies to the flight-controller team.
• Validate airworthiness and conduct pre-flight checks.
• Prepare, organize and maintain flight-test and demo equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on UAV platforms.
