Alta Ares in Paris is looking for a MAVLink & Autopilot Engineer to lead the development of their UAS autopilot systems. You will be responsible for designing and integrating the autpilot and communication stack and must demonstrate strong expertise in MAVLink protocol and ArduPilot firmware.

The role demands hands-on experience with ArduPlane and ArduCopter on live deployments in defence operations. A solid understanding of embedded systems and robotics is required, along with the ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure environments.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in embedded systems or UAS development focusing on autopilot systems.
• Hands-on experience with ArduPlane or ArduCopter on real airframes.
• Deep expertise in MAVLink protocol, message design, and integration.

Responsabilités

• Design, integrate, and harden the autopilot and communication stack for UAS.
• Develop custom MAVLink communication pipelines and maintain MAVLink parsers.
• Integrate MAVLink with onboard AI inference engines and sensor modules.
