Jobtailor is seeking a senior finance professional to lead accounting and financial operations from its western France base, with regular presence at the Nantes office. The role focuses on invoicing, AR, tax filings, and month-end reporting, driving process improvements across finance and related teams.

The candidate will own the general ledger, implement efficient workflows, and collaborate with sales and operations to ensure accurate billing and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance/accounting.
• Fluency in French and English; based in western France with Nantes availability.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP and French/Belgian accounting rules.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer invoicing processes accurately and on time
• Monitor accounts receivable
• Drive dunning and debt collection activities
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure billing accuracy
• Ensure daily accounting maintenance and reliability of records
• Oversee supplier payments and expense management
• Manage tax filings (VAT and other legal obligations)
• Handle filing of year-end financial statements with authorities — France and Belgium
• Ensure compliance with French and Belgian accounting standards
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and reconciliations
• Contribute to budgeting activities and financial analysis
• Maintain strong internal controls and data integrity
• Able to take full ownership of the general ledger (compliance, setup, accuracy) and financial operations
• Identify opportunities to optimize and simplify financial processes
• Participate in implementing new workflows and policies
• Evaluate and deploy new tools as needed
• Promote automation, efficiency and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance/accounting
• Strong knowledge of French and Belgian accounting systems
• Proven ability to improve and optimize processes
• Rigour, attention to detail and results-oriented
• Energetic and proactive mindset
• Based in western France and available to work from the Nantes office at least two days per week
• Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus
• Deep knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and French and Belgian accounting regulations
• Fluency in French and English is required
