Job summary

FCM is seeking a European Bid Writer to own end-to-end bid management, coordinating across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Product and Operations to deliver compelling tender responses. You will transform complex information into clear, winning content and manage timelines to ensure timely submissions.

The role requires 3–5 years of bid writing experience, strong MS Word skills, and English proficiency (C2). French language ability is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in PR, journalism and/or bid writing across any industry (essential).
• English proficiency (C2) essential.
• French proficiency (C1/C2) preferred.
• MS Word and MS Office proficiency essential.
• APMP Foundation/Practitioner certification preferred.
• Education to degree level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full bid lifecycle from qualification through to submission.
• Lead bid planning sessions and coordinate cross-functional proposal teams.
• Write, edit and enhance proposal content showcasing FCM's strengths.
• Develop proposal structures, executive summaries and customer-focused responses.
• Ensure all submissions are compliant, professionally presented and on time.
• Build strong relationships with internal subject matter experts and senior stakeholders.
• Maintain bid governance, document control and quality standards.
• Coach and support colleagues on proposal best practice and persuasive bid writing.

About the role

Are you a talented bid professional with a passion for creating compelling, high-impact proposals that win business? We're looking for an experienced Bid Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting FCM's growth across EMEA and global markets, while partnering closely with Account Management and Corporate brands within the UK.

In this highly visible role, you'll take full ownership of the end-to-end bid management process, leading the development of persuasive, client-focused proposals that clearly communicate FCM's value proposition. Working with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Product and Operations, you'll bring together expertise from across the business to deliver professional, compliant and commercially compelling tender responses.

As the driving force behind each bid, you'll coordinate proposal teams, manage timelines, maintain governance and document controls, and ensure every submission is delivered to the highest standard and within tight deadlines. Your ability to transform complex information into clear, engaging and winning content will be key to securing new business opportunities and strengthening FCM's market position.

What you'll be doing:

About you

• English C2 proficiency - essential
• French C1 or C2 proficiency - preferred
• Any other European language - preferred but not essential
• 3-5 years experiencePR, Journalist and/or bid writing experience across any industry - essential
• Advanced MS Word skills & proficient in MS Office - essential
• Certified to APMP Foundation/Practitioner Level - preferred
• Education to degree level - preferred
• Proposal automation software (or similar) experience - preferred
