Alibaba Group's AliExpress legal team seeks a commercial counsel based in Europe (Paris) or Hangzhou to support European expansion and cross-border operations. The attorney will advise on contracts, compliance, and business models, coordinate with regulators, and manage outside counsel across time zones.

The role requires EU qualification with 5–7 years’ experience, in-house e-commerce exposure, and strong English; additional French or Chinese language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• EU-qualified lawyer with 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• In-house experience at e-commerce or multinational preferred; cross-border trade knowledge.
• Fluency in English required; additional European language (French) or Chinese a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsabilités

• Advise on legal aspects of AliExpress expansion in Europe.
• Draft and review contracts, commercial agreements and policies.
• Respond to regulatory inquiries from EU authorities.
• Develop in-house legal tools and conduct trainings.
• Coordinate with outside counsel across time zones.
