AliExpress is seeking a commercial legal counsel to join the European legal team, based in Paris or Hangzhou. The attorney will support the platform’s expansion in Europe and work closely with business teams across jurisdictions.

The role involves negotiating and drafting commercial agreements, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing cross-border issues, and coordinating with external counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in an EU jurisdiction.
• In-house experience with e-commerce platforms or multinational corporations preferred.
• Experience handling regulatory investigations by EU authorities preferred.
• Fluency in English is essential; French and/or Chinese is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Advise on legal aspects of the platform’s European expansion.
• Provide guidance on commercial agreements, business models and strategies.
• Respond to document requests from overseas regulators and law enforcement.
• Advise on compliance, cross-border logistics, customs and tariffs, and product listings.
• Research local laws and manage outside counsel.
• Negotiate, draft and review contracts and policies.
• Develop in-house legal tools and conduct trainings.
