Job summary

Alta Ares is seeking a Bid & Project Manager to lead multiple bids and projects within the EU, NATO, and Eastern Flank teams. You will convert opportunities into compliant offers and then deliver them on time, coordinating engineering, finance, and legal inputs.

This is a high-ownership, deadline-driven role in a fast-growing defense sector. The role requires strong writing, cross-functional leadership, and a track record of on-time submissions to NATO/EU programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in bid, proposal or project management in defence, aerospace or security.
• Proven record of compliant, on-time submissions to NATO/EU programmes or ministries.
• Experience managing multiple bids/projects in parallel.
• Excellent written English with ability to produce clear, concise responses.

Responsibilities

• Screen and qualify opportunities with the sales director; prepare bid/no-bid decisions with risks, resources, and price on the table.
• Break each tender into a compliance matrix, a bid plan and clear owners.
• Write and assemble management, technical and compliance volumes with Engineering, Product, Finance and Legal.
• Organise review gates and prepare final price review with Finance; submit on time and compliant.
• Run clarification rounds and support negotiations through to contract signature.
• Turn awards into projects: kick-off, plan, milestones, risks, budget and change control.
• Coordinate engineering, production, demos and logistics to deliver promised outcomes.
• Own customer reporting, deliverables and acceptance; manage multiple projects at different stages.
• Set bid/project rhythm with calendars, gates, templates, dashboards; review weekly.
