Job summary

Mistral is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to build and develop the core platform for our AI products. This role blends hands-on coding with strategic leadership to improve developer experience and create reliable infrastructure for internal and external users.

You will split time between coding and planning, collaborating with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to drive technical solutions and long-term team growth.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and at least one web framework.
• Experience building and leading engineering teams in distributed systems.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Business).
• Excellent communication skills and an ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Remove obstacles and create an environment where the team can build solutions.
• Translate product vision into technical reality with Product.
• Ensure applications are performant, stable, and responsive.
• Uphold high code quality through reviews, testing, and automation.
• Own the full software development process from design to deployment.
• Plan projects with roadmaps, deadlines, and task allocation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, and Design.
• Support team growth through hiring, onboarding, and mentorship.
