Job summary

Hager is seeking an Engineering Architect (M/F/D) based in Obernai on site to lead end-to-end architecture for connected solutions in energy management, smart home and e-mobility. You will work with Systems Architecture to design robust, scalable architectures and collaborate with development, product and business teams.

You bring 10+ years in systems architecture, strong IoT and cloud expertise, cybersecurity know-how, and English proficiency for international collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in systems architecture for connected solutions.
• Strong expertise in IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, Modbus, BACnet, Matter, Zigbee, KNX, etc.), Edge Computing and Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, REST APIs).
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity challenges and best practices for connected systems.
• Leadership skills with ability to lead cross-functional teams in an international environment.
• Fluent in English (B2/C1 level).

Job description

As an Engineering Architect (M/F/D), you will report to the System Engineering Manager within the Connected Software Factory (CSF) team.

This permanent position (CDI) is based in Obernai (on site).

As part of the Systems Architecture team, you will play a key role in designing innovative connected solutions in the fields of Energy Management, Smart Home & Building Automation, and E-mobility.

• Define and lead the end-to-end architecture of integrated connected solutions.
• Design robust and scalable architectures that combine connected devices, software platforms, and cloud infrastructures.
• Collaborate with development, product, and business teams to align technical decisions with business needs.
• Ensure interoperability across all system layers, including devices, gateways, edge computing, cloud platforms, and mobile applications.
• Identify and address challenges related to cybersecurity, system reliability, and performance.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Systems Engineering standards, methodologies, and best practices.

What about you ?

• You hold a degree in Engineering (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
• You have at least 10 years of experience in systems architecture for connected solutions, ideally within the energy, smart building, telecommunications, or transportation sectors.
• You have strong expertise in IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, Modbus, BACnet, Matter, Zigbee, KNX, etc.), as well as Edge Computing and Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, REST APIs).
• You possess a solid understanding of cybersecurity challenges and best practices applied to connected systems.
• You are recognized for your leadership skills, your ability to bring together cross-functional teams, and your effectiveness in an international environment.
• You are fluent in English (B2/C1 level).
