OECD in Paris seeks a Senior Energy Data Officer to support collection, validation and dissemination of energy statistics, contributing to the OECD and IEA data products. You will develop methods, maintain documentation and collaborate with international partners to track energy market developments globally.

The role emphasizes data science techniques, new data sources and modernization of the data centre. A university degree is required with 2–3 years’ experience in data production or use.

Qualifications

  • A university degree in statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, computer science, information technology, engineering, physics or environmental studies.
  • Two to three years of experience in data production or use is expected.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis techniques and statistical concepts.
  • Experience with energy data and related publications is advantageous.
  • Fluent communication in English; working knowledge of French is desirable.

Responsabilités

  • Collect, validate and develop energy data and statistics to support OECD/IEA analyses.
  • Maintain and improve data quality and international comparability.
  • Develop methods for estimating missing values using data sources and statistical techniques.
  • Create derived indicators to track global energy market developments.
  • Identify new data sources and collection methods, including web-scraping and data science approaches.
