Job summary

HyLight seeks a senior software architect to own the embedded software architecture of the HyLighter, our autonomous airship for aerial inspection and environmental monitoring.

You will design a hardware abstraction layer, define clean interfaces, and build CI/CD pipelines to ship reliable flight software. Work with PX4, MAVLink and QGroundControl and help scale our systems for future payloads and features.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in embedded software or electronics.
• Solid embedded development experience with focus on software architecture.
• Hands-on CI/CD experience with pipelines and automated tests.
• Experience with PX4, MAVLink and QGroundControl on drones.

Responsibilities

• Define the global embedded systems architecture with clean interfaces and modularity.
• Build a hardware abstraction layer for sensors, actuators, and subsystems.
• Set up CI/CD and continuous development pipelines, tests, and release tooling.
• Extend PX4-based flight software and QGroundControl to HyLight needs.
• Enhance robustness of avionics and embedded software.
• Drive system architecture studies for future features and payload integration.
