Job summary

HyLight is seeking a senior GNC engineer to lead the modeling, control, and guidance for the HyLighter autonomous airship. You will design control laws, validate performance, and ensure robust operation across diverse flight scenarios in collaboration with the technical and regulatory teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of flight dynamics, systems integration, and hands-on testing, with a founder‑level ownership mindset.

Qualifications

• Mastery of modeling and control with dynamics and automation.
• 6+ years of GNC in drone/aerospace/automotive industries.
• Experience in bringing a drone or aerospace product to market.

Responsibilities

• Model and implement control and guidance laws for airship missions.
• Develop robust flight strategies for difficult conditions and risk mitigation.
• Debug embedded systems and integrate flight computers, actuators and sensors.
• Define and participate in flight tests and simulations with thorough documentation.
• Improve performance of existing airships and participate in future designs.
