UNESCO in Paris seeks a Director, Division of Internal Oversight Services, to provide independent assurance and advisory services across evaluation, internal audit and investigations. The role reports to the Director-General and leads a high-profile function ensuring accountability and organizational effectiveness.

Formación

• Advanced university degree in public or business administration, evaluation, social sciences, auditing, law or a related field.
• Professional certification/certificates (e.g., CIA, CPA, CA, CFE, CISA, CGAP) from an officially recognized oversight body or professional association.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in audit, evaluation, investigations or related fields.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure IOS work conforms to international auditing, investigation and evaluation standards and best practices.
• Develop internal methodology, tools and techniques for excellence in the Division’s work.
• Prepare an annual risk- and priority-based oversight work plan and oversee its implementation.
• Oversee an internal audit portfolio focusing on governance, risk management and value-for-money.
• Guide independent evaluations to improve relevance, impact and efficiency of UNESCO programmes.
• Lead an investigation function examining cases of fraud, misconduct or mismanagement.
• Keep abreast of major strategic issues to inform IOS work.
