Deel is seeking a Director of Data Governance to lead our data ecosystem's evolution, driving a unified, high-quality enterprise asset. You will design and implement the Data Governance Framework, ensuring data accuracy, security, and readiness for AI and analytics initiatives, while aligning with GDPR, CCPA, and internal mandates.

You will collaborate with the CFO and Security teams to optimize data pipelines for AI, manage data access policies, and steward governance across business units,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Data Management, Data Governance, or Information Architecture.
• 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK frameworks and data quality lifecycle.
• Experience with AI systems in production.
• Ability to draft Decision Papers and Charters for executive buy-in.
• Experience with modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, etc.).

Responsabilités

• Set governance strategy and drive the enterprise data governance roadmap.
• Own Data Management Policy and Governance Charter; ensure regulatory alignment.
• Lead Data Governance Council and cross-functional data standards decisions.
• Define enterprise data standards: metadata, data lineage, MDM, quality KPIs.
• Collaborate with CFO and Security for AI readiness and data security.
• Recruit and mentor Data Stewards and Data Owners; evangelize data as an asset.
• Provide executive reporting on governance maturity, risk, and ROI.
