Job summary

Back Market is seeking a Director of Cybersecurity & IT to define and lead the next phase of security and technology operations maturity. Reporting to the VP of Platform Engineering, you will be a strategic leader at the intersection of cybersecurity, IT, risk, compliance, and business growth.

You will guide a multi-disciplinary organization through its existing managers, set direction, invest wisely, and ensure measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12 to 15+ years in cybersecurity/IT leadership.
• Experience guiding multi-team security and IT domains.
• Proven ability to translate strategy into practical roadmaps and budgets.
• Excellent English; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy, roadmap, and investment priorities for cybersecurity and IT.
• Lead security operations, risk, compliance, IT ops, and product security teams.
• Develop leaders, career paths, and a high-trust organizational culture.
• Turn security into a business enabler with clear metrics and executive reporting.
• Partner with finance and tech leadership on budgets and investment cases.
