SoftProject GmbH, through its Blueway unit in Lyon, is seeking a Delivery Team Lead / Technical Consultant Manager to guide a high-performing team of consultants, architects and project managers.

You will drive resource planning, ensure delivery quality and profitability, while maintaining a hands-on leadership approach (50-60% billable) and collaborating with Sales, PMO and Customer Operations to meet client objectives. You will travel as needed to deliver value.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration/IT/CS/Engineering.
• 5+ years in professional services, consulting or delivery leadership.
• Proven leadership of small/medium technical teams.
• Strong people management, coaching and mentoring.
• Experience in resource planning and service delivery operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Customer-focused with value delivery.
• Willingness to travel as required.

What we are looking for:

• A degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a comparable qualification.
• 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Consulting, Delivery Management, or a comparable customer-facing technology leadership role.
• Proven leadership experience managing small/medium technical teams, combined with strong hands‑on technical or consulting expertise you're keen to keep applying in customer projects.
• Strong people management, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Experience in resource planning, capacity management and service delivery operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a passion for delivering value.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a hands‑on approach.
• Good understanding of Professional Services business models, including resource utilization and delivery efficiency.
• Experience with software, SaaS or subscription‑based business environments.
• Willingness to travel when required.

• Act as a hands‑on Delivery Team Lead (approx. 50-60% billable involvement), supporting customer projects while serving as the primary point of contact for the team on technical topics, project priorities, methodologies and delivery quality.
• Support sales and presales activities through scoping, effort estimation, technical risk assessment and delivery planning for customer engagements.
• Build trusted relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders, collaborating closely across Sales, Presales, PMO, Product Management and Customer Operations to support business objectives and customer success.
• Own the successful delivery of customer engagements within your area of responsibility, ensuring delivery quality, customer satisfaction, project profitability and achievement of business objectives while proactively managing risks and escalations.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and talent development activities to build a skilled, scalable and high‑performing consulting organization.
• Monitor and report on team performance, capacity and utilization, driving continuous improvement and supporting strategic decision‑making.
