Orus, a European insurtech, is looking for a hands-on Data Engineer in Paris to join as the second data engineer and partner with Davi. You will help scale the data platform to support product design, underwriting, regulatory reporting, and customer engagement.

You will own data quality, improve CI/CD for dbt, build data marts, and collaborate with Analytics, Insurance, and Engineering to ensure data meets business needs and is ready for AI-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with dbt.
• Strong understanding of modern cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or ClickHouse).
• Ability to reason about data models and architecture tradeoffs.
• Willingness to learn TypeScript.
• Strong collaboration across teams and business understanding.
• Ability to connect technical choices to business goals.
• Autonomy, initiative, clear communication, and willingness to seek feedback.
• Experience in startup/scaleup data teams (SaaS, fintech, insurtech).
• Residence in Île-de-France; Paris office required; remote not available.

Responsabilités

• Shaping and prioritizing data requests with stakeholders.
• Assessing data impacts with Engineering when apps change.
• Communicating progress, risks, and decisions clearly.
• Monitoring data quality and resolving production issues.
• Developing and improving SQL models.
• Pairing with peer Data Engineer and contributing to architecture decisions.
