Planet Paymet is seeking a Senior Accountant for France to own local accounting, regulatory reporting and financial close. You will ensure compliance with French GAAP and ACPR, while supporting the broader finance function across Planet’s global operations.

You will manage month-end close, balance sheet controls and statutory reporting, partnering withTax, Treasury, Legal and external auditors to drive accurate financial results and improvements in processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or equivalent French accounting qualification or experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of French GAAP and statutory accounting requirements.
• Hands-on ownership of ACPR regulatory reporting.
• Experience with month-end close, balance sheet control and financial reporting.
• Experience with regulated entities or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of French VAT and local tax reporting requirements.
• Experience working with auditors, tax advisers and other external stakeholders.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Accountant, France to take ownership of accounting, financial reporting and regulatory requirements for our French entities. This is a highly autonomous role, acting as a key local accounting expert while working closely with Finance teams across the wider organisation. You will ensure strong financial control and compliance with French GAAP, ACPR regulatory requirements and Group reporting standards, while helping simplify and improve the French finance environment. The role combines technical accounting expertise with business understanding, stakeholder management and process improvement.

What You'll Do

• Own the accounting and month-end close for Planet's French entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Ensure compliance with French GAAP, statutory requirements and relevant regulatory obligations.
• Take responsibility for the financial information supporting ACPR regulatory reporting, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete and delivered on time.
• Coordinate statutory financial statements, supporting schedules and audit requirements.
• Maintain strong balance sheet controls, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Analyse financial results and provide clear commentary on key movements, variances and risks.
• Maintain alignment between statutory, regulatory and Group reporting requirements.
• Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, FP&A and other Finance teams, as well as external auditors and advisers.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve accounting processes, systems and controls.
• Support the integration and modernisation of French accounting activities within Planet's wider Finance operating model.

Who You Are

• Qualified accountant, or equivalent relevant French accounting qualification or experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of French GAAP and French statutory accounting requirements.
• Hands-on experience and ownership of ACPR regulatory reporting.
• Strong experience in month-end close, balance sheet control and financial reporting.
• Experience working with regulated entities or within a regulated business environment.
• Knowledge of French VAT and local tax reporting requirements.
• Experience working with auditors, tax advisers and other external stakeholders.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of complex accounting matters.
• Able to understand complex financial and operational issues and translate them into clear, practical actions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Experience in payments, financial services, fintech or another regulated international environment would be an advantage, as would exposure to IFRS, finance transformation, systems implementation or debt factoring.
