Job summary

Merge is seeking a hands-on Compliance Lead to support regulatory compliance across EMI and CASP activities. The role requires experience with start-up fintech, EMI/CASP regulation, and fit & proper assessments by ACPR/AMF or equivalent.

You will design, implement, and monitor the AML/CFT framework, coordinate STR/SAR filings, liaise with regulators and partners, and ensure ongoing MiCA/AML compliance while guiding internal teams on best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of MiCA / CASP regulations.
• Experience with EU regulation.
• Ability to own the function end-to-end.
• Practical experience with crypto-asset business models and blockchain-related AML risks.
• Familiarity with blockchain analytics and travel rule tools is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AML/CFT framework proportionate to CASP’s business model and risk.
• Manage STR/SAR reporting and regulatory filings with authorities e.g. TRACFIN.
• Liaise with regulators, auditors, banking partners, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee compliance policies, controls, governance, and risk assessments for CASP operations.
• Monitor MiCA and AML regulatory developments and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Support internal teams with regulatory guidance and training.
