Merge is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support day-to-day compliance execution for a regulated payments business. You will collaborate with the MLRO, Legal, Product, and Operations teams to ensure KYB/KYC reviews, AML monitoring, and customer support run smoothly.

You will review and escalate high-risk KYC/KYB cases, translate regulatory changes into policies, and contribute to internal audits and regulator inquiries. A passion for digital assets and stablecoins is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in a compliance, financial crime or AML role within a regulated financial institution, EMI, PI, bank, fintech or digital asset business.
• Good working knowledge of UK/EU AML/CFT regulation, sanctions regimes and SAR/STR obligations.
• Experience reviewing and approving escalated KYC/KYB, EDD or transaction monitoring cases.
• Comfortable interpreting regulatory requirements and turning them into policy and process.
• Sound, independent, risk-based judgement under ambiguity.
• Interest in digital assets/stablecoins and how they intersect with traditional AML frameworks.

Responsabilités

• Support ongoing development and maintenance of AML/CFT, sanctions and financial crime policies and procedures.
• Act as a point of escalation for higher-risk KYC/KYB, EDD and transaction monitoring cases referred by frontline teams
• Review and approve STR/SAR cases ahead of regulatory filing; liaise with regulators and law enforcement where required
• Monitor regulatory developments (UK/EU AML regime, MiCA/CASP, Travel Rule) and translate them into practical control changes
• Support internal and regulatory audits, and respond to regulator information requests
• Conduct reviews of KYC, transaction monitoring and sanctions screening controls
• Produce compliance MI and reporting for senior management and the Board/Risk Committee
