Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and support patient safety and infection control while maintaining privacy and dignity.

This 36-hour-per-week role includes day shifts (3 x 12 hours). A high school diploma and BLS certification are required, with on-the-job training for additional competencies.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
• Skills: ability to read, write and perform basic math; good interpersonal skills.
• Experience: none required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living as delegated by the RN.
• Take and record vital signs, height, weight and oxygen saturation.
• Report unusual observations to the nurse or charge nurse.
• Collect specimens and monitor intake/output as directed.
• Provide nutrition support and assist with meals as needed.
• Maintain safety, infection control and participate in orientation.
