Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Patient Care Technician to assist with basic care, comfort, and safety of patients under RN supervision. The role emphasizes multi-skilled support, teamwork, and readiness to adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities include vital signs, specimen collection, intake/output tracking, and assisting with meals and daily activities, while pursuing required BLS certification within 90 days of hire. $19.50–$26.24 hourly, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read/write and perform basic 4 function math.
• Desire to help people and/or aspirations to become a healthcare professional.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Vitals monitoring (vital signs) and recording.
• Measure height and weight, oxygen saturation.
• Report unusual observations to the nurse.
• Collect specimens for analysis as directed.
• Record and measure intake and output.
• Provide personal care and assist with daily activities.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under RN supervision.
• Assist with nutrition needs and room service setup.
