Jobtailor is seeking a Systems Engineer specialized in embedded communication systems for a defense-focused organization in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. You will analyze requirements, draft specs, and define interfaces across software, electronics, and networks to ensure system coherence.

You’ll contribute to architecture decisions, perform integration and testing, and work within multidisciplinary teams on high-constraint environments, including naval or maritime contexts.

Description du poste

• Analyze requirements and translate them into system requirements and functionalities
• Participate in defining and evolving communication system functionalities
• Draft functional and technical specifications
• Define interfaces between software, electronics, networks, and infrastructure
• Produce system architecture and interface diagrams
• Analyze the operation of communication equipment and associated protocols
• Participate in architecture decisions related to network protocols and communication infrastructures
• Contribute to the preparation of technical notes and justification documents
• Prepare and conduct system integration, verification, and validation activities
• Define test scenarios and procedures
• Analyze test results and identify deviations or anomalies
• Provide technical leadership for system changes in collaboration with technical teams
• Take operational constraints into account when designing and evolving functionalities
• Act as the interface between different disciplines to ensure the overall consistency of the system
• Work on complex technology projects involving embedded communication systems for a defense and embedded-systems organization
• Work within multidisciplinary teams at the intersection of systems, software, electronics, networking, and communications expertise

Requirements

• Master’s degree / engineering degree or equivalent (Bac+5) with a specialization in systems engineering, telecommunications, electronics, networking, or embedded systems
• 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering applied to complex communication environments (ideally required)
• Strong understanding of system architectures
• Proficiency in or knowledge of systems architecture and systems engineering
• Proficiency in or knowledge of communication and telecommunications systems
• Proficiency in or knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, and Ethernet architectures and protocols
• Proficiency in or knowledge of IP networks and infrastructures
• Proficiency in or knowledge of hardware, software, and network interfaces
• Proficiency in or knowledge of embedded systems
• Proficiency in or knowledge of drafting functional and technical specifications
• Proficiency in or knowledge of system integration and testing
• Proficiency in or knowledge of IVV / IVVQ activities
• Proficiency in or knowledge of SysML, UML, DOORS, or equivalent tools
• Eligible to obtain Secret Défense security clearance
• Acoustic communications experience is not essential; strong experience with complex communication systems is relevant
• Preferred experience: defense, naval or maritime environments, autonomous or embedded systems, embedded communications, highly constrained operational environments, collaboration with users or operational teams, and acoustic communications
• Personal qualities: pragmatic, autonomous, and systems-oriented, with the ability to communicate with multidisciplinary teams and formalize complex requirements
