Chumash Enterprises is seeking a Coffee Bar Associate to deliver prompt guest service and craft quality beverages at the resort's coffee bar, while also selling retail items. You will operate the point-of-sale system, handle cash, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming lounge.

Flexible schedule including holidays and weekends is required; gaming license application may be needed. Previous hospitality or retail experience is preferred, and strong teamwork and communication are essential to

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must obtain food handler card within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Prior guest service experience in hospitality or F&B is preferred.
  • Experience in retail operations and sales desirable.
  • Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft apps, email and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including holidays, nights and weekends.
  • Must apply for and maintain Gaming License from Tribal Gaming Agency.

  • Fulfills end-of-shift cashier duties and cash reconciliations.
  • Communicates inventory needs to management.
  • Maintains a neat, sanitary coffee bar and lounge area.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment per guidelines.
  • Provides information on resort amenities and events to guests.
  • Escalates guest concerns to Retail Management.
  • Promotes teamwork and company values of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Overview

While providing guests prompt service, the Coffee Bar Associate creates quality beverages upon request. While offering Gracious Hospitality guest service, the Coffee Bar Associate is also responsible in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

Responsible for selling retail merchandise and operates the point-of-sale system to process guests’ purchases. While offering Gracious Hospitality guest service, the Coffee Bar Associate is also responsible in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities
  • Delivers exceptional guest service (i.e., prompt, friendly, professional, and responsive), using proper greeting and departure phrases and service standards.
  • Maintains and builds good guest relations.
  • Creates hot and cold beverages using established ingredients, measurements, techniques, and standards; adjusts recipe as requested by guests.
  • Remains knowledgeable on coffee, retail products, and menu items offered and communicates product knowledge with guests.
  • Records all sales, collects money, operates a point-of-sale system, and follows all cash handling procedures.
  • Fulfills end of shift cashier closing duties such as closing side work, cash bank settlements to Cage/Vault, point-of-sale system card re-sets, and organizing receipts, comps, or other necessary payment verifications for Revenue Audit collection.
  • Communicates with management on inventory levels and needs.
  • Maintains coffee bar and lounge areas in a neat and sanitary manner and disposes of trash.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils as needed and according to procedures.
  • Always maintains a safe and sanitary work environment by following established guidelines and regulations.
  • Provides information on resort amenities, events, promotions, etc. in order to increase levels of guest service.
  • Ensures that guest suggestions, concerns, and complaints are referred promptly and professionally to Retail Management.
  • Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Must obtain food handler card within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Prior experience in guest service preferably in hospitality or food & beverage industry.
  • Experience in retail operations and sales highly desirable.
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
