Santander Corporate & Investment Banking in Paris is seeking an Associate/Vice President to originate, structure and execute Export Credit Agency (ECA)-backed and agency-supported financing transactions. You will work with corporate clients, ECAs, multilateral institutions and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in export finance, structured trade, project finance, or corporate banking.

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is looking for an Associate / Vice President - Export & Agency Finance, based in Paris

The successful candidate will be part of the #1 ECA franchise in Europe and globally and will be playing a key role in originating, structuring and executing Export Credit Agency (ECA)-backed and agency-supported financing transactions. The role involves close collaboration with corporate clients, ECAs, multilaterals, and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored financing solutions supporting cross-border trade and infrastructure projects.

The Export & Agency Finance team in Paris is responsible for French, Benelux and Irish clients, and actively contributes to ECA and agency-supported financings in selected Eastern Europe countries.

To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

• Identify and originate ECA-backed and agency financing opportunities across dedicated sectors and a dedicated portfolio of clients, in coordination with other relevant internal stakeholders.
• Be responsible for the Term sheet negotiation and preparation of credit memos and any other internal approval materials.
• Contribute to business strategy, pipeline development, and product innovation.
• Track market trends, regulatory developments, and ECA program changes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, sponsors, exporters, and financial institutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with export credit agencies (BPIAE, Credendo and Atradius) and multilateral institutions/DFIs (e.g AFD, Proparco etc).
• Support end to end execution up to financial close for the structuring of complex ECA and agency backed transactions (buyer credits, supplier credits, guarantees, insurance) working closely with risk, legal and compliance teams to ensure transactions meet internal and regulatory standards.
• Act as a key point of contact between clients, ECAs, legal counsel, and internal teams.
• Monitor portfolio performance and manage ongoing client relationships.
• Mentor junior team members and analysts.

Professional Experience

• 5/7+ years of experience in export finance, structured trade, project finance, or corporate banking.
• Proven experience working with ECAs and agency-backed financing structures.
• Knowledge and working experience with BPIAE, Credendo and/or Atradius is desirable.
• Knowledge and working experience with Eastern Europe borrowers is desirable.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or related degrees.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of ECA products (buyer credit, supplier credit, guarantees, insurance).
• Familiarity with loan documentation (LMA standards preferred).
