Southcomp Polaris in Paris seeks a Chief Accountant to oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, taxes, and monthly close with IFRS compliance.

You will lead and coach the team, coordinate annual budgeting and forecasts, ensure accurate reporting, liaise with banks and auditors, and drive cost efficiencies through process improvements.

Qualifications

• 7–8 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end closing.
• Experience with budgeting and QBR processes.
• Involvement in reporting with a review and follow-up mindset.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and taxes.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and weekly cash flow statements in accordance with IFRS and report to direct manager.
• Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts in coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Follow up on account payables and receivables and related reconciliations.
• Liaise regularly with the direct manager and other internal stakeholders on all financial reporting activities and accounting inquiries.
• Prepare the payroll and coordinate the closing process on a monthly basis.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in the management of stock depreciation.
• Review, control and validate tax declarations as per country laws and regulations.
• Maintain a solid relationship with banks and financial institutions to guarantee the best terms and conditions for the company.
• Work with external and internal auditors and assist with the required information and documentation as appropriate.
• Assess current practices and procedures and conduct periodic evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities and system optimization.
• Ensure the existing IT platform is optimally utilized and participate in the implementation of new systems/processes.

The Chief Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily tasks and operations of the accounting department through monitoring, controlling and analyzing accounting data, budgets and financial statements ensuring proper reconciliation of accounts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Position Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

• 7–8 years of relevant accounting experience, with strong exposure to full day-to-day accounting activities.
• Hands-on experience with month-end/year-end closing, including reviewing and following up on closing activities.
• Experience with budgeting and QBR processes.
• Involvement in reporting, particularly from a review and follow-up perspective.
