Selby Jennings is partnering with a leading investment bank to hire an experienced CEEMEA Rates Trader for the Paris trading desk. You will manage CEEMEA rate risk across local currency government bonds and interest rate products.

Focus on Slovakia and Slovenia with broader CEEMEA exposure. You will price and trade government bonds, IRS, FRAs, basis and cross‑currency swaps, and develop relationships with institutional clients and sales teams.

• CEEMEA trading experience required.
• Strong knowledge of local CEEMEA rate markets.
• Proven track record in risk-taking and revenue generation.

Level: VP to Director

We are working with a leading investment bank looking to hire an experienced CEEMEA Rates Trader to join their Paris-based trading desk.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and risk CEE rates positions across local currency government bond and interest rate markets.
• Focus on Central and Eastern European markets, with particular emphasis on Slovakia and Slovenia.
• Price and trade rates products including government bonds, IRS, FRAs, basis and cross-currency swaps.
• Develop and maintain relationships with institutional clients, sales teams, and key market participants.
• Generate trade ideas and provide market colour across the CEEMEA rates complex.
• Work closely with structuring, sales, and research teams to identify opportunities and grow revenues.
• Monitor market developments, central bank activity, and macroeconomic trends across the region.

Requirements

• Proven experience trading CEEMEA rates products within a bank, broker dealer, or buy-side institution.
• Strong knowledge of local rates markets, ideally including Slovakia and Slovenia.
• Track record of risk-taking and revenue generation.
• Strong understanding of interest rate derivatives and fixed income products.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.

Preferred Background

• Experience covering additional CEE markets such as Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Croatia, or the Balkans.
• Existing client and market relationships across the region.
• Quantitative and analytical mindset with strong risk management skills.
