SME Careers, a fast-growing AI data services company, is seeking a Catalan Language Specialist to review AI-generated content and create high-quality Catalan references. This remote, hourly contractor role focuses on language quality, tone, and cultural accuracy across projects.

You will assess accuracy, grammar, spelling, and style, provide precise feedback in English, and craft rewrites and model answers to demonstrate best practices in Catalan writing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Native or near-native Catalan proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong professional proficiency in English (C1) to follow guidelines.
• 3+ years of language-focused work (writing, editing, translation, QA, etc.).
• Deep understanding of Catalan grammar and style; able to explain fixes.
• Comfort with multiple registers and regional variation (Catalan variants).
• High attention to detail in spotting subtle meaning shifts and errors.
• Reliable, self-directed and able to work hourly remote contractor across time zones.
• Prior experience with AI data training/annotation or QA preferred.
