An independent inter-dealer broker in Paris is seeking 2 power brokers to monitor market trends, execute transactions, and advise clients on energy procurement strategies. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in energy broking or trading, strong analytical and communication skills, and a solid understanding of regulatory frameworks in the energy sector. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients across Europe, the UK, and the USA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience within energy broking or trading.
• Familiarity with EPEX, ICE, CME benchmarks.
• Ability to interpret market data and trends.

We are currently supporting this independent inter‑dealer broker in a new recruitment campaign for 2 power brokers for their Paris office. Our client have a successful record in supporting Europe wide power providers and institutional counterparties across physical power forwards, options and swaps (base‑load and off peak contracts).

Our client work with customers across the European Union, UK and USA and are regulated by the NFA, FCA, AMF and CONSOB.

Responsibilities

• Monitor power market trends, including supply and demand dynamics, regulatory developments, and geopolitical factors to identify opportunities and risks for clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique energy needs and objectives. Provide personalised advice and recommendations to help clients optimise their energy procurement strategies.
• Execute power transactions on behalf of clients, negotiating favorable terms and pricing. Ensure timely and accurate completion of transactions, adhering to regulatory requirements and internal policies. Pricing will be referenced against additional data from the Trayport system, ICE, Bloomberg and Reuters
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with energy trading activities, including price volatility, credit risk, and operational risk. Develop risk management strategies to protect clients’ interests and optimise portfolio performance.
• Stay inforled on industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the power sector. Share insights and best practices with clients to help them stay ahead of the curve.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within energy broking or trading (2 years minimum)
• Knowledge of Global power market benchmarks - EPEX, ICE, CME
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks governing energy markets, including compliance requirements and reporting obligations.
