Sotheby’s in Paris seeks a core member of the Business Management team to drive profitability for Global Fine Arts and Luxury divisions. Based in Paris, you will partner with department specialists on live and online auctions, private sales, and revenue growth.

Ideal candidates are fluent in French and English, with 4+ years in business management or related fields, and strong Excel and communication skills. The role involves client-facing negotiations and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4+ years of professional experience in business management, banking, financial or consulting.
• Fluent French and English (written and spoken).
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills; ability to present to diverse stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail; multi-tasking ability.
• Creative problem solving, energetic and persistent.
• Confident team player able to work independently in ambiguous situations.
• Prior art experience not required, but interest in art or luxury objects is welcomed.

Responsabilités

• Support the pipeline of all deals to drive sales and accountability, in active collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Support, manage, and track all auction consignments, including legal agreements with Legal; overseen by senior Business Management.
• Support annual budget planning and regular forecasting with Paris Business Management.
• Develop financial models (revenue and expense) to support consignments across revenue streams; escalate as needed.
• Prepare client-facing deal communications and negotiate commercial terms when required.
• Serve as first business contact for negotiations with consignments, vendors, consultants, or others, with Legal oversight.
• Translate financial results and KPIs into operational recommendations to optimize the business.
• Manage all sale and department expenses with oversight from senior management.
• Regularly review and develop plans for Sotheby’s inventory with Operations and Finance teams.
• Act as client-facing conduit to troubleshoot pre- and post-sale issues.
• Act as strategic partner for senior management by reviewing competitive analysis and market trends.
• Research potential additional revenue streams and partner with internal stakeholders on business plans.
• Collaborate to implement IT and digital improvements aligned to responsibilities.
