Job summary

MAHLE in Décines-Charpieu, FR, is seeking an Area Sales Manager to drive commercial development in the region, manage distributor portfolios, and support sustainable revenue and margin growth while strengthening MAHLE’s market presence.

You will manage and grow a portfolio of distributors and customers, implement promotions and negotiations, and identify growth opportunities to introduce new products to the market. Fluent French is required; travel within the region is expected.

Qualifications

• Business degree (Bac+2 equivalent) or at least 2 years of relevant commercial experience.
• Strong command of MS Office and confidence preparing commercial proposals.
• Excellent communication skills, customer orientation and ability to manage priorities.
• Organized, autonomous, strategic, team-oriented and proactive, with strong commercial acumen.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the region.
• Fluent French; English is an advantage for collaboration within the Group.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of distributors within your assigned territory.
• Achieve sales, margin, profitability, and recovery targets.
• Implement commercial actions including promotions, field visits, product push activities, and local negotiations.
• Identify growth opportunities and successfully introduce new products to the market.
• Implement the commercial strategy and support distributor sales teams through training, joint visits and commercial activities.
• Achieve sales, margin, profitability and customer satisfaction targets.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of customers, prospects and key accounts (negotiation, offers, follow-up, recovery).
• Identify profitable business opportunities while safeguarding margins.
• Provide regular reporting, conduct market and competitor analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
• Cooperate closely with internal teams (Customer Service, Logistics, Marketing, Finance) and handle sector-related disputes.
