Mistral.ai is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join the Proto team in Paris. You will design and deliver end-to-end, production-grade AI systems that meet real-world needs, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

You will collaborate with customers and internal teams, drive architectural decisions, and contribute to tools and open-source initiatives to create measurable value for diverse industries.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years building and deploying production AI products or systems.
• Strong experience with vibe coding tool, with high regards for clean code & high architecture standards
• Experience working with modern GenAI stacks with expertise in RAG, Agent, Evaluation & Orchestration.
• Strong Python skills, with experience in scalable backend frameworks like FastAPI
• Familiarity with frontend development, ideally using frameworks such as React or Vue
• Ability to quickly understand business needs and translate them into technical plans
• Skilled at explaining complex technical ideas to diverse stakeholders
• Track record of collaborating effectively across different teams

• Deliver end-to-end full-stack AI solutions from project scoping through deployment
• Partner with customers to clarify needs, define requirements, and architect robust systems
• Ship ready-to-use applications for both clients and Mistral’s internal teams
• Lead architecture and technical choices, ensuring solutions are scalable and reliable
• Diagnose and solve complex technical problems across various industries and use cases
• Contribute to internal tools, product improvements, and open-source initiatives
• Evaluate and integrate new technology capabilities into existing systems
