Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a legal expert to provide practical, business‑oriented advice on AI and to support the global deployment of compliant, responsible AI solutions. The role sits within the Digital Trust & Software Legal team, reporting to the General Counsel and aligned to AI Legal.

You will operate globally from Europe, collaborating with AI Hub, Product, Data, and Business teams from France (Rueil‑Malmaison preferred) or Grenoble, with Spain (Barcelona) as an alternate location.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Law from a recognized university.
• 2–5 years of legal experience in technology/ IT law, data protection/privacy and commercial contracting.
• Exposure to AI or data-driven technologies and SaaS environments is a strong asset.
• Experience interpreting regulation into contracts and guidance; EU AI Act exposure is a plus.
• Experience supporting business teams in fast-paced environments.
• Fluent English; French or Spanish are strong assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal support on AI-related matters, including regulatory compliance, data privacy, data usage and governance, and liability considerations.
• Contribute to the development and deployment of internal policies and guidelines related to AI usage and governance.
• Provide guidance to ensure AI initiatives comply with applicable laws, regulations and internal standards, and support operationalization initiatives led by the AI Hub.
• Support the drafting and updating of templates, negotiate AI-related clauses and review contracts involving AI features, data usage and third‑party AI services.
• Work with Product, Engineering and Business teams to provide practical legal input on AI features, identify and mitigate risks early in development, and contribute to a legal‑by‑design approach.
• Monitor developments in AI regulation and related areas globally, and support the preparation of internal updates and guidance.
• Support the development of internal training materials on AI legal topics and contribute to awareness initiatives within Legal and Business teams.
• Escalate complex or high‑risk matters as appropriate, in coordination with other functions of the Group Legal team.
