Job summary

Mistral AI is seeking a senior engineer to shape and own reliability for its high-density AI infrastructure. You will lead design standards, co‑ordinate with colocation partners and review critical power and cooling systems across multiple sites.

You will drive field investigations, root‑cause analyses and improvements, with a strong emphasis on safe, scalable and cost-efficient capacity expansion.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in mission-critical data center design, engineering or reliability work.
• Experience with electrical and cooling architectures, redundancy and risk management.
• Ability to review complex engineering drawings, calculations and testing evidence.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain design criteria and colocation requirements for new facilities and retrofits.
• Translate GPU/AI workloads into facility envelopes and cooling topology.
• Lead reviews of diagrams, sequences of operation and capacity models; document risks and decisions.
• Partner with delivery teams to define testing, acceptance criteria and handover deliverables.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of incidents and drive reliability improvement programs.
• Collaborate with IT hardware, network and platform teams; communicate design trade-offs to leadership.
• Develop reusable standards and playbooks for portfolio-wide reliability.
