Rogers Police Department seeks a 911 Telecommunicator I to receive incident reports and emergency calls, entering information into the computer while operating dispatch equipment. You will determine incident details, prioritize calls, and coordinate with responding agencies to ensure timely dispatch of resources.

Required are strong communication, basic math, and critical thinking skills, plus valid certifications.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to four years of high school or GED, with emphasis on office skills.
• 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Public safety communications knowledge is preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Answers 911 and other public assistance calls and enters information into the computer.
• Determines critical information for processing a call and establishes the nature of the incident.
• Enters and codes information while receiving data from the caller.
• Dispatches fire or police vehicles and personnel and coordinates with responding agencies.
• Interfaces with the ACIC system to input data and obtain information as required.
