Job summary

Eutelsat Communications SA is seeking a 5G Operational Engineer to join the S&O team in Toulouse for the IRIS2 programme. You will help define operational processes, support system integration, and manage 5G services and incidents from the Ground Control Centre.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers, work on ITIL-based procedures, and prepare for live operations with on-call support. This role requires readiness to travel within EU sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with 5G networks, 3GPP standards, telco cloud environments, and NOC operations.
• Experience interfacing with external suppliers or managed services.
• Experience in ITIL-based processes for complex operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness for 5d/7–8h per day plus on‑call support.
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal skills.
• EU citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Operations & Preparation before service launch.
• Define and maintain ITIL-based operational processes for 5G services.
• Coordinate with Managed Services & suppliers for alignment and SLAs.
• Provide incident, problem and change management support.
• Collect data, analyze issues, and drive continual improvements.
• Document lessons learned and produce clear operational reports.
