Job Description
The In Field 12V Battery Lead Leader is direct report to the regional In Field Quality resp.le and leads the quality performance of the assigned perimeter.
On his perimeter, to guarantee customer satisfaction, he leads the quality performance and KPI and owns the action plans definition to ensure achievement of the assigned targets for the cluster for which he is fully accountable.
Principle relationships

- Any meeting from Quality dealing with topics of interest (e.g. RACE, TOP Quality, etc.) for the assigned perimeter
- Regular meeting with tech leads reference to define improvement plan
- Escalation meetings with plant quality managers, supplier, engineering in case of issue fix roadblocks
- Regular meeting with warranty leader and TWC leader to exchange information about issue inflow, issue fix, improvement plan and field actions
- Meetings with Top Hat Quality Manager and Function Quality Manager to bridge any LL gap on new developments
Operational context
- The holder of this position must contribute in improving the quality level of customer vehicles for the area of competence in a context of ever more ambitious quality objectives
- The position requires accountability and leadership so to meet quality requirements
- Support the In Field Quality Lead in finalization of Quality status for the area of competence protecting the plant and the field
- Lead quality KPI management to achieve quality objectives, driving improvement/corrective actions and escalation
- Owns improvement plans and actions for the area of competence
- Support resolution of systemic/epidemic or major quality issues (RACE, Top Warranty, …), challenging the Team on the effectiveness of the solution and robustness of the validation plan proposed by DRE
- He is fully accountable for the issues that he is managing in his perimeter, knowing the related quality KPI, the customer impact and the technical background
- Ensure the timing update of the PDCA systems issues tickets
- Drive the problem-solving process using the appropriate tools with rigorous approach
- Bridge the gap to ongoing new developments for any LL collected in its own area of competence with the right handover to the function quality to support the LL definition and improve the detectability and the design standards
- Communicate with other regional leads in case of potential read across issue that can affect car lines sold outside its own region of competence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- 10 years relevant experience on in the assigned cluster 12V Battery, both from quality or engineering area
- Strong communication and leadership skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated and directed
- Ability to thrive in a high-intensity environment while working on multiple projects
- Rigorous and pragmatic
- Capable to provide high-level summaries in the most effective format using the most common tools
- Ability to lead an Engineering team to deliver product changes and launches on time
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions with knowledge of the most common problem-solving tools. Green/Black Belt certification is preferable but not mandatory for the role (in this case Green Belt certification to be achieved in the first year in the role)
