Lines Manufacturing in Strasbourg is seeking a Senior Mechanical Fitter to join our technical team. You will lead assembly, installation, and maintenance of sophisticated mechanical systems on high‑yield machinery.

The role requires at least 5 years of hands‑on experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a proven ability to lead and mentor others while prioritizing safety and quality. This is a full‑time, on‑site position with opportunities to work across cross‑functional projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role in industrial/manufacturing environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with fitting and assembly expertise across complex systems.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and implement improvements to reduce downtime.
  • Proven leadership to mentor junior fitters and lead by example in safety and quality.
  • Excellent attention to detail and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Mechanical Assembly & Fitting: Lead the assembly, installation, and maintenance of complex mechanical systems, ensuring precision and top-tier quality standards. You will be working on high-performance machines used in various industries.
  • Technical Expertise: Use your expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical issues across a wide range of systems and machinery. Implement improvements to increase efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Project Management: Take ownership of mechanical fitting projects from start to finish. Coordinate tasks, manage timelines, and ensure the quality and safety standards are met throughout the process.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior fitters and other team members, providing technical guidance and ensuring best practices are followed. Lead by example in both quality and safety standards.
  • Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other departments to ensure all mechanical systems are designed, fitted, and maintained to meet operational requirements.
  • Quality Control: Perform routine inspections and quality checks on all mechanical components and systems. Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of mechanical systems and equipment.
What You Bring
  • Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience in heavy machinery, automation systems, or precision equipment is highly valued.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in fitting, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine maintenance. A deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles is essential.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You are highly skilled at diagnosing mechanical issues and finding effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead by example, mentor team members, and take responsibility for the completion of complex mechanical tasks and projects.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work even under pressure.
  • Safety Conscious: A strong commitment to maintaining high safety standards, ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Qualifications: A recognized apprenticeship or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Team Player: Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude. You enjoy working in a team and understand the importance of collective success.
